GENOA 2015

After successful events in Milan (2013) and Florence (2014), Genoa will host the third edition of the New Generations festival with the aim of creating a COMMUNITY of architects and experts from different disciplines in order to redefine the role of architecture in contemporary society. The event is structured according to THREE MAIN TOPICS:

1st (CITY) URGENCIES

Our cities are changing and it’s not just architects that are involved in this process: communities, public administrators, private stakeholders and companies all contribute to the identity of a city. Thus, a series of debates spanning urban governance, reactivation of public and private spaces, demolitions, and new technologies, will bring together REPRESENTATIVES FROM BOTH LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC ADMINISTRATIONS, to interact with young and well-known offices from all over the world.

2nd ARCHITECT GROUND ZERO

In order to better understand the EVOLUTION OF THE ARCHITECTURAL PROFESSION, some of the most influential European firms will congregate to explore the complex network of relationships between architecture and other disciplines—the participating firms include: Aparicioeeraerts (Belgium), SO? (Turkey), Teratoma Atelier (Spain).

3rd FUNDING MODELS

According to the new generation of architects, ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY is one of the most critical aspects of modern design. Several international guest speakers from the fields of architecture, economics, and entrepreneurial studies will discuss the feasibility of NEW ECONOMIC MODELS.
